BALANGA CITY, Bataan – City Vice Mayor Noel Valdecanas led other officials in the formal opening of the City’s 2014 Night Christmas Bazaar and Food Expo on Thursday.
As part of the program, city officials roamed around the stalls, improvised huts, and kiosks of clothes and foods. An initiative of the city government headed by City Mayor Joet Garcia, the bazaar and food expo aims to make the Christmas season here animated and memorable for folks and visitors.
Located at the vacant DBP lot along Capitol Drive and part of the road leading to the public market, City Administrator Rudy de Mesa said the bazaar and expo is until January 15 next year.
The yearly night bazaar in the city, aside from being an attraction, has provided a place for folks to buy cheaper clothes. The food expo, on the other hand, caters to the public who get tired and hungry roaming in the area, or simply to satisfy cravings. An innovative business, a bus converted into a food stall, Goto Mobile is also at the expo. Christmas delicacies like bibingka and puto bungbong are expected to be sold in the expo. An improvised stage is also being assembled from time to time for local talents to entertain folks at night.
