BALANGA CITY, Bataan – With the theme “working together towards agriculture and rural development”, the 2nd Agricultural Extension Workers Congress of Bataan was held yesterday, July 6, 2017, at La Vista Inland Resort, this City.
Present in the event were Dr. Albert Venturina (Head – Provincial Veterinarian Office), Ms. Imelda Inieto (Head – Office of the Provincial Agriculturist), Mr. Geoffrey Loyola (Head – Provincial Information Office, Management Information Systems Office), Hon. Gaudencio Ferrer (Consultant on Agriculture), Ms. Lorna Tablante (APCO – Pampanga) who all gave short messages regarding the event, and representatives from the agriculture offices of the different municipalities and city of this province. Also present was Ms. Johanna Dizon (Provincial Engineering and Research Coordinator) who gave the congress overview.
For the orientation and enlightenment of everyone regarding the province’s mission and vision, Mr. Loyola took the floor. He discussed how important it is for each employee and department to align their strategic initiatives to the province’s mission and vision, as well as the significant role the AEWs play in the attainment of the vision of the province.
Ms. Inieto, for her part, shared the strategic initiatives of the OPA for the other municipalities to be oriented and enlightened on what can be their measurable and impactful roles for the attainment of the province’s targets.
After the lunch break, Mr. Glenn Ilar, MTM talked about “changing the landscape towards an improved agricultural extension and advisory services delivery to farmers in the country”.
