BAGAC, Bataan – Capitol employees planted 4,000 forest trees in upland Brgy. Parang, this town, for the staging of the 1st Bataan Arbor Day activity on Tuesday.
“We planted narra and eucalyptus species”, said PG ENRO Head Engr. Vic Ubaldo who personally led the planting activity.
“This is the first Arbor Day of the province since we passed the environment code early this year”, he said.
“It is stipulated in the code that the province will hold Arbor Day every June 25”, he added.
“Next year we will make the activity bigger with more tree seedlings to be planted and larger participants”, he added.
Provincial Assessor Engr. Ricky Herrera led the team from his office in planting the strip assigned to them.  Taking order from PIO Head Angel Ortiz Luis, capitol scribes did not only cover the event but planted tree seedlings as well.  Ubaldo in many occasions has been echoing the thrust of Gov. Abet Garcia to reforest the province.
