BALANGA CITY, Bataan – the Philippine Carabao Center based at the Central Luzon State University in Munoz, Nueva Ecija has turned over to the City Government eight (8) female Italian -bred buffalo for distribution to Small Ruminant Raisers’ Association in Barangay Upper Tuyo, this City.
Ms. Roneth B. Santos, City Government Department head of Management and Information Services Office (MISO) has described the animal dispersal program is one of the vital livelihood initiatives of Mayor Francis Anthony S. Garcia to uplift the quality of life of the people in the agricultural community
Ms. Santos gave details of the Carabao Loan Program headed by Dr. Daniel Aquino , center director, aims to increase buffalo milk production in the locality and to train technically rural folks on managing dairy farming business.
According to Ms. Santos, Mayor Garcia has continuously encouraged upland residents to have sustainable income and effective animal dairy production perspective on how they can have a good sources of income like providing a more dynamic dairy supply in buffalo milk ice cream to intended market.
Mayor Garcia added that the farmers’ welfare remain as the top priorities in his government agenda to uplift their quality of life and improve their productivity to enhance stable earnings.
The animal dispersal program is intended to alleviate the livelihood income generating projects of small ruminant raisers and more healthier environment.
