BAGAC, Bataan- The span of about 40 kilometers coastline of this historical and leisure town is being eyed to become an ideal economic zone.
Nick S. Ancheta, Bagac municipal administrator, articulated his appraisal of the possibility with the proposed expansion of the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) under Senate Bill No. 2133 or an Act Further Strengthening the Powers and Functions of the AFAB.
He said newly-elected Mayor Ramil del Rosario and other municipal officials have ascertained a highly-strategic section of the coastal village of Quinawan as a viable site for industrial area under the jurisdiction of AFAB.
According to Mr. Ancheta, the country’s largest food conglomerate, San Miguel Global Corporation is currently undertaking development of a Special Economic Zone located in Barangay Biaan, Mariveles town, near the boundary of Mariveles-Bagac towns which is a few kilometers from the proposed industrial estate.
