BALANGA CITY,Bataan – A former government employee the other day has predicted healthy and dynamic tourist arrivals with the persistent local eco–tourism industry upsurge as the result of the positive foresight and solid entrepreneurial advocacy of the local government authorities.
Ms. Teresita O.Hernandez, a retired employee of the Bureau of Agricultural Statistics (BAS) has cited the proposal of Bagac Mayor Gabriel del Rosario, one of the country’s youngest mayoralty winners in the last elections, and Morong Mayor Cynthia L. Estanislao of transforming the coastal towns into premier tourists destinations with extra panoramic landscape to match up with the existing development in the retirement housing villages and world-class accommodation facilities.
According to Ms.Hernandez, who was involved in undertaking several agricultural surveys and statistical evaluations in Bagac and Morong towns, the rich potential for investments particularly in tourism aspect and recreational prospects of the popular resorts of the two Bataan coastal towns are yet to be discovered.
A manager of a beach resort along the the 20 kilometer coastal span from Nagbalayong to Mabayo has confided that a beach resort operator earns as much as P 1 million a day during tourist peak season from the month of December to May.
The coastal town of Morong has generated about 100,000 visitors and corporate personnel seminar-workshops .endeavors.
Ms. Hernandez has figured out the two towns nestled near the breathtaking grandeur of famous Bataan National Park with protected scenery ideal for mountain trekking, picnics and camping reservation and other leisure-type activities on the notable Mt. Silangan falls which boast of Pintong Alipi, an 80-foot high waterfall cascading to pool of refreshing cool water, a hidden treasure inside the thickly forested nature park for adventure trekking enthusiasts in one of the cool streams inside Bataan National Park, definitely fit for eco-tourism projects.
