BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Thru the Health Facility Enhancement Program, one of the pillars of the “Kalusugang Pangkalahatan” of the Department of Health (DOH), the Bataan Provincial Health Office (PHO) acquired a Mobile Dental Clinic also known as Dental Health Bus.
“Ito ‘yung way para marating ‘yung mga kababayan natin na nangangailangan lalong-lalo na yung mga walang dentista sa lugar nila. Through this, ma-a-address ‘yung mga dental health problems nila,” said Dr. Rosanna M. Buccahan, PHO department head.
The purpose of providing a Mobile Dental Clinic or Dental Bus is to improve dental health care programs and also to facilitate equitable and accessible dental health care to Bataan community.
“Sa pamamagitan din nito, mas magiging efficient ‘yung health service delivery and access to facility, this will also answer the dental health needs of those people who are in geographic isolated areas or far-flung areas para naman hindi sila maiwan,” pointed out Dr. Eduardo D. Dela Cirna, PHO dentist.
Dr. Dela Cirna also affirmed that this endeavor is in line with the vision of the province of achieving the highest human development index in the country for according to him; this will result to an improved health status and well-being of an individual.
The Dental Health Bus is brand new, air-conditioned and features two dental chairs and units, includes hand instruments for tooth extraction, hand-piece for tooth restoration, has scaler for oral prophylaxis, has own power supply and compressor, and is set up like a private dental clinic.
“Sa Dental Bus, we guarantee na dignified ‘yung pag-render ng dental service pati na sa mga marginalized na pasyente,” Dr. Dela Cirna reassured.
Last Monday, Dr. Buccahan together with Dr. Dela Cirna presented the Dental Health Bus to Gov. Albert S. Garcia.
