Balanga City, Bataan – The Bataan Provincial District Jail and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted a half-day “Operation Greyhound” on Tuesday morning to inspect the detention cells of 804 male inmates here.
Superintendent Andrew W. Tauli, Bataan district jail warden, said the impromptu operation accompanied by drug sniffing dogs, PDEA agents and a group of Bataan journalists conducted the procedure peacefully.
Superintendent Tauli stressed that “Operation Greyhound” is already the third successful procedure organized since January, this year, which resulted to negative results, no deadly weapons, illegal drugs or other prohibited gadgets were confiscated.
He added that the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology has readied handicraft and weaving trainings and other occupational activities as part of the rehabilitation program of the detainees.
The Bataan BJMP has likewise organized spiritual and sports events to enable the inmates share the teachings of the Almighty and become healthy and productive citizens.
