BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Provincial Assessor’s Office has fast tracked the issuance and efficient processing of titles on lands that it covers through the development of a new digital system.
Bataan Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia has forged a Memorandum of Agreement with the Land Registration Authority (LRA) to jointly undertake the latest computerization scheme for a period of two years for the upgrading of procedures in real property assessment, comprehensive land use updates and classification of lands and other development in land revision techniques.
Engineer Ricardo C. Herrera, Provincial Assessor, explained the LRA-Bataan Title and Parcel Map Data Supply Project means the correlation of this productive undertaking comprises of using the Land Titling Computerization Projects (LTCP’s), data bases and its facilities. The system is designed for quick processing, tracking and retrieval of land information.
According to Herrera, the province would prepare an assessment and list containing market and assessed value, name of owner or administrator anyone having legal interest in the property of all real properties, whether taxable or exempt, within its territorial jurisdiction and establish a real property identification system.
Under the agreement, the LRA would identify and pursue innovative solutions which may help provide better public service and increase government revenues.
With this project, Herrera said Governor Garcia aims to increase local revenues by improving its tax collection efficiency and property valuation system, protect its constituents and prospective landowners in verifying the authenticity of real property records related to the parcels of land they intend to purchase and to stop the machinations of syndicates engaged in land grabbing by enforcing land ownership rights using a map-based system.
