BALANGA City, Bataan – Garnering a general average of 86.6 percent, Gianna Kalilah Roman of Bataan Peninsula State University-Balanga Campus placed second in the recently-concluded Nurse Licensure Examination (NLE) administered by the Professional Regulation Commission this June 2016.
“Sobrang thankful ako kay Lord kasi binigay Niya sa akin yung dream ko na mag-top sa board exam. At ang saya sa feeling na hindi ko na-disappoint yung mga taong nag-pray para sa success ko at ng batch namin,” said Roman when asked about her latest achievement.
Roman pointed out that her inspirations in coming up with this feat were her family, friends, classmates, and her alma mater, the BPSU College of Nursing and Midwifery.
“Ang ginawa ko para mag-prepare for the exam ay naging masipag ako sa pagpasok lagi para makinig sa lectures and review at nagbabasa din ako pag may spare time,” she shared.
Gianna Kalilah Tolentino Roman was born on Feb. 23, 1996 in Brgy. Cataning, Hermosa, Bataan, to proud parents Mr. and Mrs. Edwin and Lilian Roman.
She was a consistent academic achiever as she graduated valedictorian both in her elementary and high school days and as a cum laude in college.
Regarding her future plans, Roman said that she will pursue graduate studies while practicing her profession in the hospital.
Meanwhile, Dr. Gregorio Rodis, BPSU president, said that they were very happy with the results. According to him, the concerted efforts of the College of Nursing and Midwifery (CNM) contributed to this achievement.
“With her exemplary performance as a student since first year, it is of no doubt that she has made it to the top. I really kept on telling her that she has a bright future in the nursing profession and that she surely can be an asset of the institution she will work with,” said Dr. Ruby Matibag, CNM dean.
Also, Top Rank Review Academy, the review center where Roman enrolled, has expressed their heartfelt congratulatory message for her.
“Ms. Roman has proven to be an excellent student from her forming years in her university until her review program with us in Top Rank Review Academy. She is the cream of the crop of our review season, and the epitome of Top Rank’s excellent track record in the nursing local board exam. Gianna Kalilah exudes confidence as she prepared for the boards. She has demonstrated the essential ingredients of being a successful nurse from knowledge to skills and attitude. Her hard work and sheer determination led her to the top which brought pride not only to herself and her family but also to her university, to the Top Rank Review Academy, and to the entire jurisdiction of Bataan,” said Mr. Roland Villegas, Corporate Director and Owner of the Top Rank Review Academy.
Roman is among the 48 newly Registered Nurses (RNs) produced by the Bataan Peninsula State University.
As an advice for the next batch of takers, Roman said, “Dapat mag-pray lagi and never stop seeking for God’s guidance. Useless lahat kung wala si Lord. Mag-aral nang mabuti kasi kung pangarap talagang mag-top or pumasa, gagawin lahat upang makamit yun. Minsan nakakapagod talaga, pero sa proper time, we will reap the harvest kasi hindi tayo nag-give up sa dreams natin. And we should always do our best in everything.”
