BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) and Philippine Association of Extension Implementors Inc. (PAEPI) hosted a two-day training on capability building for extension workers.
“The training aims to further enhance your skills in extension works”, BPSU Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training Services and PAEPI Chairman of the Board Dr. Hermogenes Paguia told participants from universities and colleges at Crown Royal Hotel, this City.
“There are government agencies that could provide funding to extension projects”, he also said.
“With this regional training, we are able to establish network and collaboration, we can help each other”, he added.
Extension workers who participated came from Bataan Peninsula State University, President Ramon Magsaysay State University, Tarlac State University, Nueva Ecija University of Science and Technology, Holy Angel University, Medical Colleges of Northern Philippines, Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific, Cavite State University, and Wesleyan University Philippines.
The extension program implementors also came from DAVTSU, College of Immaculate Concepcion, Bicol University, Visayas State University, Gordon College, Bulacan Agricultural State College, Isabela State University, Angeles University Foundation, System Plus College Foundation, Bataan Heroes Memorial College, and Baliuag University.
The Regional PAEPI Chapter was also formed. “With the Regional PAEPI Chapter already formed, more trainings can be scheduled”, Paguia noted.
PAEPI President and Isabela State University Director of Extension Dr. Pedrita Medrano, and PAEPI Treasurer and Letran Calamba Director of Extension Prof. Lorenzo Isla together with Paguia spearheaded the training.
“BPSU President Dr. Greg Rodis was present almost in the entire training on the first day. He fully supported the activity”, said Paguia.
“Congratulations to PAEPI for this training, you are very hands on, the PAEPI president is here”, a participant said when asked to give feedback.
