BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Aiming to further train faculty members and students on wireless communication technology, the Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) and SMART Communications, Inc. recently signed anew the SMART Wireless Engineering Education Program (SWEEP) agreement.
Signing the agreement were BPSU Director of Research Development Office Dr. Hermogenes Paguia and BPSU Director for Student Affairs Perla Estrella both representing BPSU President Dr. Greg Rodis, BPSU Dean of College of Engineering and Architecture Engr. Nelson Andres, SMART Area Manager for North Luzon Eduardo Damian, and SMART Area Supervisor for Bataan-Zambales Joel Velasco.
With the signing of the agreement, SMART donated to the university additional equipment to the SMART SWEEP Laboratory, which was inaugurated on the same day.
Included in the donated equipment are desktop PC (Acer Veriton S6620G SSF), high-end android phone, and 2 android tablets (one with phone feature and the other none).
The agreement also includes SMART’s providing technical training to university faculty members and students.
The university and the telecommunication giant first signed the SWEEP agreement on November 23, 2010.
Paguia said the university’s partnership with SMART opens many opportunities for their faculty members and students alike. “The university research works can be greatly helped with this partnership”, he pointed out.
