CAPITOL COMPOUND – After the creation of the Bataan Provincial Youth Council (BPYC) as stated in Executive Order No. 24 Series of 2017, the second organizational meeting was held this morning, August 9, 2017, at the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) conference room, Capitol compound, this city.
“Ang gusto talaga natin ay mailapit ang serbisyo ng probinsya sa mga kabataan,” PSWDO head Marilyn Tigas said. In general, the objective of the creation of the BPYC is to harmonize all programs and initiatives of the province and non-governmental organizations for the youth sector.
With this, the main goal of the meeting is to finalize the details about the Provincial Youth Congress that will be held on August 24, 2017 at Lou-Is Resort & Restaurant. Activities included in the event are: foot parade, short presentations of the BPYC members (DTI, PESO, PG-ENRO, DOLE, DepEd, Tourism, PDRRMO, POPCOM, TESDA, MISO/PIO, Red Cross, and Iskolar ng Bataan) about the programs and services that they offer, and the main highlight of the event “PYAP Got Talent” competition with a theme “PYAP! Kaagapay sa Pagbabago, Tungo sa Makabuluhang Kabataan”.
Activities for the youth don’t stop there, the BPYC members have already planned activities with their tentative dates for this year:

September 28 – PYAP Leadership Seminar
September (to be announced) – Tourism Month Celebration
October 12 – PYAP Seminar on Climate Change Adaptation & Mitigation
October 26 – PYAP Seminar on Population Awareness & Family Life Orientation
October (to be announced) – Disaster Preparedness Seminar, DTI Consumer Awareness Seminar
November 26 – Participation to Pawikan Festival
November 29 – Bataan PYAP Year-end Celebration
