Cong. Tet’s legacy lives on

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Provincial Government of Bataan through the Provincial Social and Welfare Development Office (PSWDO) has been in partnership with the different funeral homes all over Bataan for the Libreng Libing Program, and to further improve their services to the public, a MOA signing was held this morning, June 19, 2017, at the Bulwagan ng Bayan, Capitol Compound, this City.

PSWDO head Marilyn Tigas graced the event together with Gov. Abet Garcia who both delivered their short messages, thanking the owners/representatives of the different funeral homes in the province who came today to sign the agreement for their continued support and cooperation to this program.

Aside from the Iskolar ng Bataan and rice subsidy programs which are known to be some of Cong. Tet Garcia’s notable legacies, another is the Libreng Libing Program (LLP) which started years ago all for the same reason: to lighten the burden of the less fortunate Bataeños and at the same time, continue to uplift the quality of their lives.

Gov. Abet also mentioned earlier that this LLP has undergone many processes. Back then, the provincial governemnt was the one who made the coffins. Then they came to a realization that they don’t need to compete with the expertise of the funeral homes, hence, a partnership with them was born.

Up until now, this program continues to live on.
