ABUCAY, Bataan – The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Bataan will continue providing agrarian reform cooperatives here the 14 required trainings for them for free.
In the recent training workshop “Education and Business Development” for managers of agrarian reform cooperatives here, DAR Bataan Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer Engr. Eric San Luis said they will continue providing free training workshops. “You should take advantage of the free trainings we are providing”, he advised to officers of the cooperatives.
In relation to the topic of the workshop he messaged, “When you want to operate a business or come out with a certain product, you should aspire for the best, do not settle for less”. DAR Bataan tapped Lino Obana, consultant of the successful Abucay Multi-Purpose Cooperative, as resource speaker of the recent workshop.
Agrarian reform cooperatives are those being assisted by DAR, and whose members are mostly agrarian reform beneficiaries. Cooperatives need to undergo 14 training packages based on Republic Act 9520 or the Philippine Cooperative Code of 2008.
San Luis earlier pointed out that that the cooperatives need to undergo all the trainings annually in order for them get Certificate of Good Standing. “They need to get the Certificate of Good Standing for them to avail of the tax exemption benefit from BIR”, he pointed out.
DAR Bataan is the only DAR entity in the country accredited by the CDA to facilitate trainings for cooperatives. The agency is extending full support to agrarian reform cooperatives in the province.
