BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Bataan is set to distribute another 117 land titles in the province in line with its “Handog Titulo” program.
During his guesting at Radio Balita at the city-based 98.3 FM Smile Radio, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer Raul Mamac said he is set to sign this week 60 land titles in Mariveles and 57 in Balanga City for distribution to beneficiaries.
He said his office is targeting to release 350 land titles this year in line with the Handog Titulo program. “We are on target, we can release the 350 land titles this year to our beneficiaries”, Mamac assured.
Earlier, DENR Bataan distributed 74 land titles in Barangay Poblacion, Mariveles in two separate ceremonies. Land titles are released to occupants of non-agricultural public lands under the Handog Titulo program. “You can apply through our office for titling of a non-agricultural land that you are occupying”, announced Mamac.
He earlier pointed out that the program in a way contributes to maintaining peace and order in the locality in the sense that beneficiaries develop that feeling of contentment and assurance, knowing that they now own the land that they have been occupying for many years.
In addition, he said, it is also good for the government since beneficiaries will start paying taxes for the land that has been awarded to them. In addition to the ‘Handog Titulo’ program, Mamac is also pushing for the National Greening Program in the province in support to President Aquino’s initiative.
