BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Department of Education (DepEd)-Bataan has assured teachers this new school year are equipped not only with wits but also with social skills through a series of trainings.

More than 500 teachers underwent the Division Mass Training of Grade 6 Teachers in Subic Bay, Olongapo City on May 12-18.

The training provided teachers with concrete understanding of the Grade 6 curriculum framework, learning standards and competencies, assessment, and teaching plans, according to education program supervisor Illynne Samonte.

Also, the Philippine Elementary School Principals Association-Bataan Chapter held the Gender and Development Anchored on Public Accountability and Values Enhancement Seminar at Vista Venice Resort, Morong town on May 22-23.

It was aimed at enlightening school administrators to become community-spirited leaders who are responsible for driving positive change in the workplace, and to equip them withinsights on values and beliefs.

Moreover, DepEd-Bataan is set to conduct more trainings geared toward the implementation of the K to 12 program. “Recently, we had the hiring, and deployment of new teacher applicants for kinder, elementary, junior and senior high schools, though we still lack applicants for senior high schools,” Samonte said.

DepEd-Bataan, led by Division Superintendent Jessie Ferrer, recently trained teachers also on standardized free assessment test for Kinder to Grade 10 students.
