DINALUPIHAN, Bataan – Aiming to bring the government closer to the people, the local government of Dinalupihan launched Barangay Visit program for its 46 villages.
“We want to see the actual plight of our constituents and see how we could further service them”, said Mayor Gila Garcia during the visit on Tuesday in far-flung Barangay Sapang Balas where she was accompanied by the vice mayor and Sangguniang Bayan members.
“Every Tuesday we go down in a barangay bringing municipal services”, she said.
“The SB members are with me, and they have respective committees. They will see the actual situation and initiate needed legislation for the benefit of our constituents”, the lady mayor added.
For her part, Councilor Amy Muli-Sandoval said, “This is a very good program initiated by our mayor. It will have direct and positive impact to our constituents”, she said to this writer as she partook in the boodle fight during the program.
“We at the SB see the many good programs initiated by Mayor Gila, that’s why we are fully backing her”, she also said.
Earlier, the lady councilor told this writer that she commends the mayor for the genuine desire to serve and prudent handling of the municipal finances.
Barangay Sapang Balas Captain Rogelio Caraig expressed gratitude to municipal officials for the staging of barangay visit in their village saying many benefitted, and they were able to personally discussed their problems and concerns.
Conducted during the visit were agricultural, engineering, local civil registration, and other basic social services as well as medical and dental mission and dance exercise.
Municipal budget, accounting, and treasury officers also assisted the barangay regarding financial records.
