CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – The Department of Education (DepEd)-Bataan had their benchmarking activity at the City Division of Batac in Ilocos Norte as the latter pioneered in the integration of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
“So we will benchmark on the best practices of Batac. It is a small schools division. When we talk about ICT, they are up ahead,” said Dr. Jessie Ferrer, Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) of Bataan.
SDS Ferrer said that they will observe them on using technology in classrooms. “Although sa atin kasi, there is one municipality (Limay) who invested so much money kaso ang nangyayari, ang technology ay naging replacement lang ng ibang materials,” he explained.
‘’The rationale here is that we are eyeing that our students, our learners, would embrace technology, meaning they have to come up with an output that will manifest on how they have learned,” SDS said.
Moreover, they had a culminating activity presenting a proposal on how to use technology. Dr. Ferrer is looking forward that they will eventually produce a division integrated plan that will be cascaded to all the schools in Bataan.
