BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Bataan General Hospital (BGH) offers free eye surgery using the ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and surgical instruments donated by the Lions Club International Foundation.

Recently, Meneses and his wife Pasig Lions Club President Cherry Meneses conducted eye screening and distribution of free reading glasses during the Learning Barangay Week program in Bagong Silang this city. They were with the members of Balanga City Lions Club headed by its President Mercy Gonzales.

The Balanga City Lions Club regularly joins the Learning Barangay Week of Balanga City for eye screening and distribution of free reading glasses.

Meneses said the ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and surgical instruments were donated BGH in 2013. He said the donation was signed by Lions Club officials and Gov. Abet Garcia.  Gonzales said surgical procedures for cataract, pterygium, and other eye problems can be performed at the BGH.

Meneses said they are looking for a district hospital in the province to transfer one set of ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and surgical instruments from BGH to reach more patients.
