BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU)-developed products and produce were showcased in the Galing BataanTrade Fair held at Plaza Mayor de Ciudad de Balanga.
Mango products developed by the university through the project funded by CHED DARE TO were displayed at the BPSU booth, said Associate Professor Dr. Rowena Valerio.
The products were mango tarts, mango polvoron, mango cookies, mango wine, pickled mango, mango marmalade, mango barquiron, mango spread, and mango bar.
BPSU Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training Services Dr. Hermogenes Paguia is the project leader of the research, “Sustainable Mango Production through Science and Technology Innovations and Support Mechanisms for Capacity Development in Central Luzon”.
It will be remembered that the BPSU mango products recieved Promising Product Award from DTI in the same trade fair last year.
University-developed mushroom products were also showcased.
Valerio said organically grown vegetables like stringbean, tomato, and chilli from Abucay Campus were also sold.
BPSU President Dr. Greg Rodis is fully supporting product development in the university.
The trade fair was organized by DTI Bataan and Provincial Tourism Office in commemoration of Araw ng Kagitingan.
