BALANGA CITY, Bataan – In his message to Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) advocates of the Philippines during the courtesy call held at Emiliana Hall last Friday in line with the 35th International AIDS Candlelight Memorial, Governor Albert S. Garcia underscored the government’s focus on health.
After sharing that Bataan has recently acquired the lowest poverty incidence according to the Philippine Statistics Authority, he spoke about Bataan’s target to have the highest Human Development Index (HDI) which comprises per capita income, life expectancy or health, and access to quality education, accentuating that the most important component is health.
He added that they will boost further the health programs to increase the life expectancy of Bataeños and for a better quality of life for all. The first step is by identifying the top causes of mortality and taking actions to decrease deaths from such causes.
