BALANGA CITY, Bataan – To properly equip and prepare grade school students, teachers and school personnel valuable knowledge and skills on what to do in the event that an earthquake occurs, an earthquake drill was conducted at the Talimundoc Elementary School in Orani last June 20.
This is in line with the 2nd quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill, a program of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC)
To achieve the purpose of the activity, Mr. Orlando C. Aguilar, Barangay Administrator together with Kagawad Amelia G. Atienza, Chairperson, Committee on Health and Sanitation and Finance discussed important pointers on what to do in case of an earthquake while Jaya S. Velez, SK Chairman, gave instructions to properly accomplish the drill.
Prior to this, two other earthquake drills were conducted at Wakas Elementary School in Pilar and Kataasan Elementary School in Dinalupihan.
Meanwhile, secondary students at the Mariveles National High School – Malaya also participated in the said drills. Their School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Coordinator, Mr. Jovanni Belmonte, Teacher III was there to oversee the event as well as to introduce the representative from the AFAB Fire Station for the post activity evaluation.
