ORANI, Bataan – The Orani Water District (OWD) is already preparing for the installation of the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and leak detection and monitoring set.
“We will post this month at PhilGEPS so that the public may know and bidders can join in offering us the equipment we need”, said OWD General Manager Benni Andres.
SCADA is a computer system for gathering and analysing real time data. “Even here in my office with the installed SCADA, I can monitor our operation for instance the level of our water supply in particular areas”, he earlier explained. He added monitoring screens will be available right in his office.
The installation of SCADA and leak detection and monitoring set are two of the 5 components aiming to upgrade OWD facilities to better service its members. The first component well drilling has already been completed. The civil works and reservoir are also already finished.
The new reservoir is glass fused to steel, which is the latest technology, and has a capacity of 1 million liters. It will be inaugurated on April 9.
The fund of P101 million being used for the 5-component works came from a loan at KFW Bank in Germany though Local Water Utilities Administration.
