CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – To ensure that the rights and welfare of the children are promoted and protected, the Provincial Council for the Welfare of children (PCWC) spearheaded by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), together with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the local government units and other concerned agencies monitor annually the functionality of the different programs and services of the government pertaining to children

During the monitoring activity, each Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) in each of the 11 municipalities and 1city of the province is visited by a team composed of the representatives of the different concerned agencies.

Since the LCPC is responsible in planning and spearheading programs for children at the local level with the end in view of making the locality child friendly, it is through the monitoring that the LGUs and other concerned entities are given guidelines and evaluation tools in assessing the functionality of their programs.

Assessed are the following areas: Organization, Meetings, Policies, Plans and Budgets and Accomplishments.
