LIMAY, Bataan – The Let’s Count Program widens as it was re-launched with 32 early child educators from different municipalities of Bataan came to be oriented on September 28, 2018 at Orica Philippines Inc., Limay site.
Let’s Count is an early mathematics program for children aged three to five. The program supports parents and early years educators to develop the maths skills of the children in their care by noticing, exploring, and talking about numbers, counting, measurement and patterns in their daily lives.
Orica Philippines, Inc. was first able to bring this program last year with the early child educators of Limay. The 1st run sets off series of parent meet off on different schools in Limay, discussing techniques on how they can use Mathematics in their day to day activities. This can be achieved by exploring through observations, games or songs.
For this round of Let’s Count, the program was partnered with Department of Education of Bataan, to ensure that it will have traction with the teachers. The program was monitored by Ms. Jacqueline C. Tuazon, Education Program Supervisor – Kindergarten and Ms Ma. Bernadette E. Mendiola – Kindergarten Principal Coordinator – Limay.
To ensure sustainability of program, the teachers who attended the session will serve as trainors on roll out of program on their respective schools and districts, just like for this session where Ms. Christine Joy Q. Cabral from Limay ES and Ms. Darling D. Concepcion from St. Francis Elementary School serves as facilitators.
Mr. Danilo Caysido, Education Program Supervisor – Mathematics from the Division of Bataan is also present during the program and was able to impart his appreciation on the innovativeness of our early child educators in making sure that the lessons will be interesting for our students.
