ORANI, Bataan -The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in the 1st Engineering District of the province is looking forward to complete the widening and slope protection projects worth some P 60 million in Roman Expressway before the end of the year.
Engineer Erlindo R. Flores,Jr. ,district engineer, said the completion of the road widening and slope protection segments in the main thoroughfare located in Barangay Gugo, Samal and Barangay Mulawin, Orani respectively would provide safe and comfortable travel to motorists , industrial workers , traders, importers and petroleum product haulers .
Engineer Flores explained the continuous improvement of the 70-kilometer expressway will facilitate greater access and efficient delivery of basic services, raw materials and exportable products to the international markets from the fast growing Freeport Area of Bataan and other special economic zones operating in the historic peninsula.
According to Engineer Flores that the funding of the two valuable projects came from the last year budgetary allocation requested by Rep. Geraldine Roman of the 1st congressional district of Bataan for the upgrading of the major road network inter-linking three biggest freeports in Central Luzon
He added the expansion of Roman Expressway would further strengthen the industrial growth of the province with the expected influx of multi-national corporations who are interested to put up factories, commercial leasing and housing facilities.
