BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Provincial Government of Bataan in coordination with the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) through the Provincial Government – Environment and Natural Resources Office (PG-ENRO) held a Capacity Assessment on the Mainstreaming Green Growth in Development Planning Project yesterday, July 25, 2017, at PGO conference room, Capitol compound, this city.
This event was held to promote climate resilience and inclusive growth through the institutionalization of green growth tools and guidelines in the national and local development planning processes in the Philippines.
With its mission “dedicated to supporting developing and emerging countries in demonstrating new pathways to climate resilient and pro-poor economic growth that simultaneously targets transformational aspects of economic performance, poverty reduction, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability”, representatives from GGGI graced the event.
Ms. Erika Calayag (Knowledge Development Officer, GGGI), Ms. Maricor Muzones (Project Manager, MGGDP Project, GGGI), and Ms. Doreen Erfe (Capacity Development Officer, GGGI) led the sessions in giving the objectives of the activity, introduction of GGGI, introduction of the MGGDP Project, overview of the capacity assessment, the meaning of green growth, and the workshops after the lectures.
The event was attended by representatives from NEDA, DTI, and different departments of the PGB.
