MARIVELES, Bataan – “Being a public servant in a government institution at that, is all about mission and passion to serve,” said Mariveles District Hospital Chief Dr. Hector Santos during the soft opening of the Mariveles District Hospital held at MDH Compound of this town.
Said district hospital is in its Phase 1 meaning the following are now operational: Out Patient Department, Emergency Room, Dental, Animal Bite Treatment, Family Planning, Smoking Cessation, Basic Laboratory and Pharmacy, manned by 20 personnel, led by Dr. Hector Santos who is also the chief of Orani District Hospital.
Governor Abet Garcia led the ribbon cutting ceremony, together with Mariveles Mayor Ace Concepcion, Department of Health (DOH) Region III Assistant Regional Director Ruben Siapno, Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) Chairman Engr. Emmanuel Pineda, Mr. Austere Panadero of Zuellig Family Foundation and Municipality of Mariveles Officials, blessing of the facilities were also done afterwards.
In his message, Governor Garcia recognized the efforts of different public and private sectors in making the Mariveles District Hospital possible. “Before, it was just a dream by our former Governor Tet Garcia and now it is already happening.” said Governor Garcia while expressing his gratitude towards the people involved in the soft opening.
Meanwhile, DOH Region III Assistant Regional Director Siapno believes that Mariveles District Hospital will soon be one of the top hospitals in the country once it is fully operational. Dr. Santos on the other hand is looking forward to the next phases of the Mariveles District Hospital in partnership with the public and private sectors.
Hiring is still on-going until all available vacant positions are filled by early 2019 when MDH is set to elevate its operation to Phase 2.
