BALANGA CITY, Bataan – A group of Miss Earth 2018 candidates visited our beautiful province with a couple of activities lined up for them last Friday, October 19. Unfortunately, Ms. Earth-Philippines was not among the group because she was included in another other groups who visited other provinces.
The candidates were warmly welcomed by Vice Governor Cris Garcia when they paid a courtesy call at the Office of the Governor, since Gov. abet Garcia was currently attending a conference in Davao City at the time.
The candidates proceeded to Barangay Cabog-Cabog for the Tree Planting Activity in support of the “1 Million Trees for 1 Bataan” (1M41B) Challenge of the Provincial Government of Bataan. Ms. Korea Suhyun Song said that this activity is in line with their advocacy at Miss Earth Organization: Taking Care of the Environment”.
After the tree planting activity, they went to Vista Mall Bataan to experience the so-called “boodle fight”, eating by hands on banana leaves while being serenaded by the “PUP-BATAAN Bandang Kawayan”.
In her short welcome message, Vice Gov. Cris said that Bataan is continuously improving in all sectors like economic, tourism, and the result is Bataan is one of the provinces with the lowest poverty incidence in the Philippines at 1.6%.
