Monorail transit system is boon to local economy

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – A Chinese technical team is expected to begin its comprehensive feasibility study on the third week of June this year, on the proposed monorail transit system in this City.

Engineer Miguel Sanchez, city engineer, describes the initial phase of the monorail transit system covers six kilometer around the fast growing component city in Western Central Luzon corridors.

The Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the local government to build an electric-powered monorail transit system, the second of its kind in the country after Iloilo City which was the first project initiated last year.

Engineer Sanchez has perceived the establishment of monorail transit is presumed to lighten the traffic clogging and heighten the quality transportation servicing situation in the City.

Bataan residents, employees both private and government agencies, students and businessmen are expecting more impressive economic growth with the transport modernization scheme that would further motivate locators to expand its marketing targets to neighboring industrial areas in Bataan peninsula.

Aside from stimulating trade and commerce, the monorail transit provides healthy environment and accessibility to riding public
