SUBIC BAY FREEPORT – Former Special Assistant to President Bong Go vows more Malasakit Centers to serve the medical needs of indigent patients.
Speaking before at least 2,000 Bataan officials and political leaders during the Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) and Bataan’s Partido Balikatan ng Bataan (Balikatan) alliance signing here on Sunday, he said in roaming around with President Duterte, he realized the need to improve the medical services throughout the country.
“Lalapit ka sa munisipyo o capitol, sa PCSO, sa PAGCOR, DOH, DSWD, at Philhealth, pero kulang pa rin”, he said.
“Kapag may Malasakit Center na, naroon na yung mga pwedeng itulong ng mga ahensya ng gobyerno, kapag kulang pa yung pondo ng Malasakit Center ang magpupuno”, he also said.
He said there are already 17 Malasakit Centers in the country. He said another one will soon be opened in Pampanga.
Go noted that the Centers need to reach more Filipinos as many still don’t have access to free quality healthcare.
Malasakit Center is a program of the Duterte Administration to establish one-stop shops in hospitals to hasten the delivery of free medical services and financial assistance to indigent patients.
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio of HNP and Gov. Albert Garcia, president of Balikatan signed the alliance agreement at Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center.
