PILAR, Bataan – The Bataan Government Center here on Monday was filled with people from different government agencies and offices who flocked here to have a taste of various recipes at the Goat Meat Culinary Exhibit.
Bataan Vice Governor Cris Garcia, Balanga City Mayor Francis Garcia and other officials and guests from the Department of Agriculture and the Bureau of Animal Industry participated in the historic event.
During the said activity, 22 members of the City of Balanga Small Ruminant Raisers Association (COBSRRA) graduated from the Farmers’ Livestock School in Goat Production of the provincial government. It took them six months to finish the course.
Aside from their diplomas, the graduates also received 10 female goats as a start-up for their goat meat production businesses.
“This is the first time in the country na may graduation na ganito and at the same time may eat all you can na lutong kambing ibat ibang putahe,” Provincial Veterinarian Albert Venturina told 1Bataan.com.
COBSRRA also received a P1 million grant from Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE REGION 3). Their president Exequiel Espiritu said they will work on providing sufficient supply of goat meat and products in Bataan. Their members were the fifth to finish in the said training which started last August 2013.
