DINALUPIHAN, Bataan – Scores of municipal employees, barangay captains, and close friends and relatives gathered on Thursday at the “Bulwagan ng Dinalupihan” to attend a mass specially offered for the third death anniversary of the great political icon of Bataan- former Bataan Governor Enrique “Tet” Garcia who also became congressman of the province’s Second District.
Dinalupihan reelected Vice Mayor announced after the Holy Mass that the Sangguniang Bayan had passed a resolution naming the Dinalupihan Bulwagan Gov. Enrique T. Garcia, Jr. Government Center.
But it will take affect after the 10th death anniversary of the province’s most popular statesman.
Tet Garcia’s favorite daughter, Dinalupihan Mayor Ma. Angela S. Garcia profusely thanked all those present in the momentous event, including the PNP, BJMP, and Bureau of Fire Protection personnel.
On a personal note…..
As far as I can remember, I have covered Gov. Tet Garcia since he entered politics in late 1980s or earlier, first as Bataan governor, then as congressman of the 2nd Dist., and again as governor. Covering him for the local paper NewsHawk and Philippine Daily Inquirer is something really worth the effort, every newspaperman worth his salt would love the job; it is quite an accomplished job.
