ABUCAY, Bataan - A highly determined and conscientious couple, both former overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), meticulously enjoys a new business career as promising coffee shop proprietors in the commercial district of this town.

The couple, Willie Rivas and his wife Lana, owners of Saverde Coffee Shop located in Barangay Gabon here, has strictly analyzed the unlimited breaks in the coffee shop industry primarily in the fast developing northern Bataan town with two prestigious colleges, Kalayaan College and Colegio de San Juan de Letran and the expanding business area situated in the Roman Superhighway near the boundary of Balanga City and Abucay.

Saverde Coffee Shop, featured thrice in a popular GMA television travel program hosted by Drew Arellano, reached the height of its status and became a sensational attraction among visitors and travelers from Central Luzon and Metro Manila with its delightful special menu of beef tapa and buttered milk toast bread.

Mr. Rivas, a former warehouseman in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and his wife Lana, a trusted assistant chef of a royal family in Brunei Darussalam, opted to stay for good with their growing children and opened a coffee shop with an initial capital of P 50,000.

Mr. Rivas described the coffee shop’s growing clientele are those tourists and local visitors who are reportedly amazed by the Drew Arellano TV presentation of Saverde Coffee Shop classifying it as the number four best of its kind  in Central Luzon.

Most of the customers were reportedly scheduled then to see the world-class beach resort of Montemar and 10 other classy vacation spots  and the country’s foremost heritage resort Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bagac town and historic Mount Samat National Shrine in the upland village of Liyang, Pilar town.

He added the booming travel and tourism industry in Bataan and the rapid urbanization of the Roman Superhighway section of this town have significantly fueled economic growth.

With the unprecedented success of the coffee shop, Mr. Rivas is eyeing to establish another outlet in the Vista Mall in Balanga City to continuously provide its clients top quality cuisine and services.
