CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – To promote sportsmanship among youth and to prepare for the selection of CLRAA Meet 2017, the Division of City of Balanga recently conducted its three-day Athletic Meet, last November 24 to 26 at the Balanga Athletic Ground and Dinalupihan Sports Complex.
“Self-discipline should be developed in every athlete”, stressed Dr. Carolina S. Violeta, Officer-In-Charge Office of Schools Division Superintendent in her opening remarks during the kick off ceremony. “I am challenging all of you to be sports and give your best shot in your chosen category,” she added.
To ensure the smooth flow of events, a Division Sports Solidarity Meeting was held last November 23 at the City of Balanga National High School. The said meeting was participated by the officiating officials, tournament supervisors, tournament managers, coaches, chairmen of steering committees and EPS in charge of sports.
Dr. Carolina S. Violeta and Dr. Armando C. Capili, led the release of balloons which signaled the official opening of City Meet 2016. Coaches simultaneously raised their respective school banners before the competitions started.
“Ibibigay ko po lahat ng best ko para makapag-uwi ulit ng karangalan sa aming paaralan at para maipakita ko ang aking kakayahan”, said Benj A. Yuga, an athlete and former CLRAA delegate from Bo. Central Elementary School.
The Annual Athletic Meet was participated by elementary and secondary athletes both from public and private schools. Different sports events include Archery, Arnis, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Billiard, Chess, Gymnastics, Lawn Tennis, Sepak Takraw, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo and Volleyball.
Winners in the different sports events will be part of Balanga City Delegation for CLRAA this coming February 2017 to be hosted by the Division of Bulacan.
