BALANGA CITY, Bataan – More business and employment opportunities will be given to persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Bataan as the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) leads this year’s 40th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week.
The Provincial Government of Bataan in partnership with the Provincial Council on Disability Affairs (PCDA) will hold the provincial celebration of the 40th NDPR Week on July 17 at Lou-Is Restaurant in Balanga City.
An orientation on economic opportunities will highlight the celebration to be attended by hundreds of PWDs from the 11 municipalities and lone city of the province.
“In order to provide economic opportunities for our PWDs, we will stress skills training and enhancement for them,” TESDA Provincial Director Virginia Bondoc said during the Provincial Council on Diasability Affairs (PCDA) meeting.
Forum on types of disabilities and concerns regarding issuance of PWD IDs will also be discussed by representatives from the Department of Health.
Meanwhile, members of the Samahan ng Taong May Kapansanan sa Bataan (SATAMAKABA) will exhibit products in display booths to showcase local quality products made by PWDs.
Other activities include solo singing contest and cooking show competition.
This year’s NDPR Week carries the theme “Kakayahan at Kasanayan Para sa Kabuhayan Tungo sa Kaunlaran.”
