CITY of BALANGA, Bataan – A common expression, especially among the millennials, TGIF is an acronym for Thank God it’s Friday which simply expresses the joy one feels in knowing that the work/school week has officially ended and that they have two days off with which to enjoy.
In 1965, said acronym was used in New York to refer to a casual dining restaurant whose specialty include Jack Daniel’s ribs, burger, buffalo wings and Fridays ballpark nachos, to name a few.
In 1991, TGIF opened its first branch in Glorietta and last Friday, August 4, its 22nd branch in the Philippines had its ribbon cutting ceremony at the ground floor of Vista Mall in this city with no less than Senator Manny Villar as Guest of Honor.
Owned by Bistro Group of Companies, TGIF Bataan gives the assurance that “every guest leaves happy”. Store Manager Ms. France Gonzales added that “we want to break the dawn of Bataan, where we maintain high standard when it comes to food and service. For the healthy conscious, we offer light and refreshing salad, such as the Ceasar Salad, while to the seafood lovers, we have Jack Daniel’s Salmon, Tortilla Crusted Fish Tacos. We also have TexMex dishes, such as quesadilla and fajitas.”
