BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Instead of taking a much needed break after the rigorous election campaign, Bataan’s “scholar czar”, Vice Governor Cris Garcia led the distribution of cash refund among the beneficiaries of the Iskolar ng Bataan program that started last Monday, May 20 at the Bataan People’s Center, this City.
The hardworking vice governor explained that the distribution of the cash refund was delayed for about a month due to the election ban and that the fund allocation for the 3, 401 beneficiaries in BPSU alone is about 22M and another 30M for beneficiaries enrolled in schools outside Bataan and those who took their board exams.
Vice Cris added that “with the implementation of the K-12 curriculum, we didn’t have high school graduates for the past two years, hence this year, we are expecting a larger volume of new college enrollees this year from three to four thousand hence we will be increasing our budget from 50M to 80M”.
For a more orderly and efficient cash refund distribution scheme, beneficiaries whose surnames start with letters A to L are scheduled in the morning while those whose surnames start with letters M to Z will get their refund in the afternoon.
