The participants were women members of SATAMAKABA of each municipality together with their respective focal persons. “We are not excluded in the society for we are also just like the people without disability,” said PCDA Head Rolando Cortes. He also said that women can also be a leader that is why the PCDA is encouraging them to act and support what has been given to them.
“The problem is not the world but our reaction towards modernization,” said Regional Focal Person for Persons with Disability Dra. Maila Rostrata in discussing why there are reported cases of non-communicable diseases especially on women. According to the study, the maximum age of a woman to live is at 70 but in today’s generation premature mortality occurs. Premature mortality is when the person dies earlier than the expected age of death. The root cause of it is the unhealthy life style which will lead to a fatal disease. One of the participants said that this kind of forum is a great help for them so they can be more cautious of their health.
